What is Sound Systems are Changing?
Who doesn't love a love song? However, there is more to life and more to music than love songs but this isn't reflected in the music we hear played on the radio.
I'm on a mission to change the music industry so that music which is about topics other than love songs, get airplay. This will be good for everyone because the way humanity is living is not sustainable and music which is about other things will really help to get the message out and it will enable more positive change.
The way this can be done is to recognise music which is about other things as it's own genre and I have a name for it (although please let me know if you think of a better name.) It's called Ecotronica - it's not necessarily electronic or 'eco', it's just the name, the same as all of the other names we have for musical genres.
Once ecotronica is recognised as a genre then perhaps radio stations will play it and recognise it - the message is in the lyrics but it can be any musical genre.

One of the key tracks from Muse's concept album Drones; it describes the state of mind a soldier would have to enter into in order to fight - while name-checking the new technology that allows warfare via remote control.
In many parts of the world, wildlife is taken from its habitat and forced to live in unnatural environments which cause unending suffering and misery for the animal, all for money.
This one called 'Free' by Hapi and the Lost Species is specifically to raise more awareness of the Taiji dolphin hunts where whole pods of dolphins are rounded up by boats and killed with some individual dolphins put into aquariums for the rest of their life.
